June's First Christmas

I guess when you have a baby one week before
Christmas, it gives people the idea to buy her a
Christmas outfit- June got six of them!
Throughout the day we managed to put her in
all of them for at least a little while. Our
Christmas was relatively laid back this year, we
planned ahead and celebrated with the Yosts
over Thanksgiving weekend and the Coffindaffers
the second weekend in December, that way we
could focus on our new bundle of joy... and have
time for frequent wardrobe changes :) We didn't
feel a need for many gifts this year as we believe
we have received the greatest gift imaginable!

Did you count the outfits? We were a
little slow with the camera and did not
get pictures of two of them... oops!

The First Few Days

Me With My Mom and Dad!

Dad stayed really busy because Mom
was recovering from some procedure
or something???

This is me leaving the hospital. It was
the coldest day of the year so far. The
temperature was 4 degrees fahrenheit.
How do I look?

I Have Arrived!

On Thursday December 18th at 9:15 am June Avery made her appearance in our world, weighing 7lbs 15oz and measuring a whopping 21 inches long!!! She was delivered during a scheduled Cesarean Section, which went smoothly... but was a far cry from the natural birth that we had hoped and planned for in the months leading up to the day. However, we could not argue with the three midwives, four sonographers, and two doctors who told us that trying to deliver our baby normally with part of the placenta and blood vessels blocking the way would be impossible. It was what we needed to do to get her here safely, and now that she has arrived we couldn't be happier- she is amazing!
