Six Months Old!

June has had an exciting week! Yesterday, she had her "half birthday". In celebration we thought we would let have her first try at eating real food. We started with bananas, which she seemed to find interesting but not necessarily tasty. Then we tried some carrots which she liked even less. I think her favorite part of the whole experience was getting out her cool high chair... Thanks Leslie!! On Wednesday we went to the city and spent the afternoon at the Lincoln Park Zoo. June saw the monkeys the seals and the bears. Again, she was mildly amused. On Tuesday we went to the doctor for the six month check up- I told you it was a busy week! At the doctor we found out that June is up to 14 lbs and 24 inches, and is still very healthy. Even though she is really small for her age (the 9th percentile, to be exact) the doctor is happy with her progress, she is just a little peanut!

Here are some pictures from the week...

Fun in Funnyville

Guess who came up with that title? I'll give you a hint his name starts with K and rhymes with wreath that is all I am going to say. Anyway, we just returned from a fun weekend with family and friends in Fennville. June had the chance to meet Aunt Marlene and Uncle Roger for the first time as well as our friends Dan and Sarah. She is becoming so much more aware of her surroundings now which is fun to watch. You will notice that June took a special interest in her cousins Tyler and Ethan and also in her Uncle Kyle's face. Here are some pictures:

June Reading and Sitting... Kind Of.

Just wanted to post some fun pictures from the last week or so. Got a couple of good shots of June enjoying some fine literature. Doesn't she look focused?

June has been busy, in addition to mastering the book Squishy Fish she has been practicing sitting up on her own and she almost has the hang of it.

WHOOPS!
