June is Thankful for her Family!

We are home now after spending a very nice Thanksgiving weekend with family in Michigan. We were spoiled by each Grandma with a yummy turkey dinner, which June (and Keith) really enjoyed! She also had fun playing with Grandma and Grandpa Yost and loved watching Grandpa's fish. Then it was over to Fennville where June got to hang out with her cousins at Grandma and Grandpa Coffindaffer's house. She was excited to be part of the fun, now that she can walk and try to keep up! Ethan thought it was really fun to have June chase him and she thought it was great too- even though most the time she was lucky to even keep him in view let alone catch him! Here are some pictures from the trip:

It is Official: She Can Walk!

I will be sure to get a video very soon, but you are just going to have to trust me for now: June is walking! It took a couple of weeks to go from little tentative steps to all out walking, but she is really getting around now. It is funny when we are out and people see her, they can't really figure her out at all. Usually I think they just assume she is several months younger than she is due to her size but now when they see her walk, they come right out and ask her age. Anyway, she is having a blast parading proudly around the house. For some reason she really likes to carry things with her as she travels; toys, Captain's bone (gross), rolls of toilet paper, books, whatever she can find and usually one thing in each hand. It is like she has just been waiting all this time to rearrange things around here.

Not much else is really new. We have been getting outside as much as possible and soaking up every last minute of sunshine, the weather has been really nice here the past couple of weeks!

Here are a few recent pictures...

Halloween!

June was a strawberry for her first Halloween! The evening of Halloween was a little cold and windy here so we thought we had it all figured out by staying in and letting June greet the trick-or-treaters since she is really into other kids right now. We figured she would enjoy having them come to the door and seeing all the different costumes. We knew that we might not get a ton of visitors since our street is somewhat hidden but we got our candy ready and hoped for the best.... and after two and a half hours we got our only three trick-or-treaters! We were kind of bummed, but figured she doesn't know the difference and she did get a kick out of the three that came.

Luckily, June's costume wasn't a waste! There was a festival in town that we took her to for young kids. June rode there in her green stroller, (that happened to match her costume perfectly) she was smiling and waving to anyone whose attention she could get and most people took that as an invitation to guess what she was dressed as. A ladybug, an apple, an elf? Close... anyway... There were games and lots of candy and even a hay ride that took us through the neighborhood and it was a beautiful fall day. We had fun.
